Had literally zero sleep and worried it will ruin our day

29 degrees in our room overnight (house is a heat trap), combined with a dreadful tickly cough that I am trying to get rid of. If I fell asleep for 45 minutes that is all I got for the whole night. I must have lived awake for the whole night. That’s never happened to me before, I’ve always had at least a couple of hours sleep no matter what the circumstance. AIBU to worry I’ll be so tired come this evening and it’ll ruin our night away? This is our first night away all year and we are supposed to be going out for food and drink, given now is 5:30 and we’re setting off in less than an hour, I’m going to be exhausted arent I?

AIBU? Will it actually be alright?

Just remember, you're well rested even if you haven't slept

If you’ve got something to look forward to it’s quite easy to ignore the tiredness almost. Just don’t think it’s going to ruin your time away and it won’t!

Try freezing a 2 litre bottle of water and put that in front of the fan.

I have bouts of insomnia and it's not uncommon for me to be awake an entire night. I don't feel that bad the next day.

You’ll be fine. It’s one night.

This happens to me occasionally - always when I have a special event the next day! I guess it's some unspoken excitement/nervousness.

Everything will be fine, you'll get through it on coffee and coca-cola! My only concern is - are you driving? Please don't.

I love my sleep and this would make me panic a little too, OP! It's also disappointing and annoying that it had to happen last night of all nights too!
Try and fit in a nap if you can. And look forward to a lovely night's sleep tonight. Hope you manage to have a great time!
