Long story short, invited 10 of DD2 (9) school friends to her bday party. We already had DD3 (8) and DSS (9) coming, so we had booked the party for 13. One RSVP’d and said they couldn’t make it. 2 RSVP’d to say they could come and did. One RSPV’d the day before to ask if mum could come and sit too as child couldn’t be left alone.
I answered to say yes but heard nothing more. Said mum and child turned up an hour and a half late, ate some cake, took a photo of child and my child and then left!
The other 6 neither RSPV’d nor turned up! Meaning me and DP has to join in with the ‘pizza making’ to try to make up the minimum of 8 kids that we were charged for. I don’t mind the money thing but really? Would it have hurt or send a simple text saying thank but no thanks???
i RSVP immediately when I the girls get an invitation. It’s just rude not to surely?
I also had a very very upset little girl who thinks she has no friends!! It literally broke my heart

What assholes. Your poor little girl. I hope she had a lovely time anyway, as much as she could have. I don’t understand some people at all.

Oh, your poor girl 😢 that’s really heartbreaking. They are complete arseholes not to even say they couldn’t make it. Just awful.

This is unfortunately not unusual behaviour, I've heard it in real life and on here, but there is absolutely no excuse for it, it takes seconds to text a reply. Your poor daughter, but it's not her friends that didn't want to come, its their parents being useless.

Blownupblowndown · 25/05/2023 21:36

Yes I think you’re right- shit parents! One of them is even friends with me on Facebook and even she didn’t message 😞.
Thanks for the nice messages. She did have a good time tho (even me and DP had quite a lot of fun making the pizzas lol) We managed to gloss over it quite well but she’s not stupid and I could tell she was very hurt 😔

People are so rude these days, and it means they are raising rude children too. Especially when they know you have paid for an activity, at least if they say no you can invite someone else who would have appreciated it. sorry for your daughter but I hope she still had a lovely time.
