The text when you click does an adequate job of backtracking from the implications of the quote used as clickbait, but that doesn’t excuse the galloping bollocks of it on a forum aimed at and used by women, and particularly those who are pregnant or have children.
Most stretch marks that occur during pregnancy would not have been preventable had the woman applied any available cream to her abdomen. They are caused by tearing at a deeper level than the dermal layer creams have any effect on.
I got stretch marks with my first, a million years ago, I wasn’t that bothered luckily and they faded in time, but I wish I’d spoken up when a vile midwife teaching a cohort of students announced to the “And this is what happens to ladies who don’t look after themselves” - I had used cocoa butter religiously and gained no more weight than inevitable from a BMI towards the lower end of the healthy range for my height.
Women really don’t need to be peddled this crap at a vulnerable time. If anyone pregnant reads this who has, or gets stretch marks, it’s not your fault for not buying the right cream and/ or applying it regularly enough or in the right way. It’s just luck and collateral damage and they fade with time.
What next? “I wear Victoria Secret lingerie and my beau never looks at other women.”? “I bought an airfryer and now DH is home by 6.00pm EVERY night”?
It’s a poor effort.
