That I should be able to post a thread without it being overtaken by weirdos

This really why is it impossible to post a thread without people looking back on my older threads and having an opinion. Y can't people answer. My post or scroll by without turning into stalkers

And this list here, this is why people do it OP. Because context is vital and knowing all this could completely change someone's answer to your questions. They're not being weird, they're trying to answer as best they can, by getting the necessary context.

But im doing a lot better iv cut down on drinking I'm engaging in services I'm doing everything I should be doing

If you post under the same user name then people are allowed and able to search your posting history. It's useful for the reasons already described by PP. It also helps weed out time wasters who don't listen to advice, and to call out hypocrites who are vitriolic in their attacks on one thread, whilst saying the complete opposite on another, for example. Personally, I use about ten different user names at any given time - different ones for different boards.

How do you check people’s previous posts? I could never work out how to do it 😁

I have no idea I like to take people on face value and not drag up their past mistakes but im not as judgemental as 99% people on this app

But the past mistakes you're talking about op are in the last 6 months.

People aren't raking up ancient history from 20 years ago.

They're commenting on things you yourself have posted in the last 3 months.

Cutting down on drinking is no good. You need to completely quit forever.

Shoxfordian · 23/05/2023 17:37

Plenty of people did answer your question though before it became derailed by all your other posts

MillieMollieMandy1 · 23/05/2023 17:37

Usually when people complain about 'advanced search' it is because they regularly post a lot of random stuff which taken together just doesn't add up. Don't get angry OP, get some help in real life.

Last time I quit drinking I was hospitalised for withdrawals. Quitting drinking is really dangerous and it needs to be done safely

It's not people being weirdos. Your previous posts are extremely relevant in your situation.

It's people trying to talk some sense into you.

You need to step away from the internet, stop instigating arguments with your ex, and stop drinking alcohol - forever.

Until then you should not be in charge of your young children.

We tell you this on every single one of your posts. Stop drinking alcohol.

This. If you're cutting down drinking, great. But you still shouldn't be looking after young children until you're sober. However long that takes.

Have a read of this thread op

I skimmed it but it actually pissed me off if I'm honest so haven't commented on it

Yes OP, people are judging.
I judge anyone that gets so wasted they randomly shag any man that comes onto them in any situation.
You have young children and services involved, your parenting is not up to scratch at the moment.
Yet all you seem to care about are the men you are sleeping with. I judge this a lot because children are being fucked up by your actions.

caringcarer · 23/05/2023 17:59

OP, you don't have to justify making a thread. No idea why some people are giving you a hard time.

TidyHomeTidyMind · 23/05/2023 18:04

@caringcarer maybe because children are involved and she only wants advice on her dysfunctional sex life?

OP

Nothing wrong with drinking alcohol if it causes you no problems.

Obviously with you it does (and must be expensive!)I am not a teetotaller by any means- but I measure out my drinks so I keep count. This helps me not drink too much as I can't afford it for one thing!

Either keep count or don't drink at all.

Nothing worse than a falling down drunk!

And that's good, you should be proud of the progress you've made. I don't think anyone is trying to say otherwise. But doing well now doesn't magically erase past actions, that's all. People are always going to try and look at the whole picture if they can.
