Flirty estate agent

Hi guys I own a small terraced house. I'm selling it. This is the first time I've sold a house.

I talked to two estate agents and I decided to go with the second one as his fees were better.

However he has started to be very flirty.

The last time he came round he kept telling me that I was beautiful. He said it about six times.

Then he came around today for me to sign a contract. He told me I was beautiful.

He took a few more photos of the rooms. I wasn't sure which room he was taking a photo of , I said "do you want me to move into the hall".

He said "well the house would sell for a million more pounds with you in the room".

Then as he left he said "you're gorgeous!". He is in his sixties if that has relevance. I'm a single woman in the house in my own. I felt a bit uncomfortable .

How would you take it? Surely that's being unorofessional

I wouldn't want him in the house again. Since you've signed a contract, check if there's any way you can withdraw without penalty (cooling off period?). If not, call the office and ask for someone else to do viewings if you aren't doing them yourself - I wouldn't want him having keys at any time!

Why didn't you deal with him at the time.

And do what? She was a lone woman in a house with a creepy man who she needed the services of.

Why didn't he just not be a weirdo?

🙄Let me guess - you're the type who would knee someone in his balls, if he tried it on with you?

I'm inclined to agree with you. I usually would be, but we had a contractor in (big, national company), probably in his 60s or so as well. Was rude the entire time, blamed me for his company's mistakes and was just horrible, to be honest. I usually would have no problem just saying "get out", don't know if it was due to being very pregnant by that point, but after he left I could barely speak down the phone to DP for crying (which I usually never do). DP did, however, call up and explain what would happen if he ever came back - bit more than just a kick in the balls too. 😬
You don't always react in the moment.

It’s usual to get about three valuations form estate agents anyway, and then you can decide which to go for. It usually gives you some ammunition to use when knocking them down on commission too.

Just as an aside.
