Child's first passport, don't have father's details

I've got an appointment with the passport office to get a fast tracked passport for my son next week. His dad has ignored my request for his details. I know how full name, address and DOB, but he's not provided his passport details or his parent's details. Am I just going to be turned away for the passport? Not sure where to go from here.

I'm pretty sure you only need one parent's details - obviously as long as you're eligible yourself which you've said you are

Surely plenty of people don’t have passports, so you can’t be expected to put passport details for both parents, grandparents etc

For anyone who searches this in the future, they accepted my application with just my details. I had my passport, my mother and father's details and date of marriage, my birth certificate and my exes parent's names and addresses and they needed none of it. Literally just my details, son's birth certificate and the application. Easy as anything!

Fab news.

At least they do this for UK passports. Australian children's passport applications need both parents' signatures. Absolute pain.

Hi, my son has his fathers last name but he’s not on the birth certificate or seen my son since he was 3 months old (hes 8 this year) I’m about to apply for a passport obviously I do not have his details, will I be okay just saying “only parent on birth certificate “ or will they question why he has his last name?

Put whatever details you have for him and leave blank the parts you don't have the info for.
Your info should be enough to get your child a passport, as long as you are a british citizen.
