AIBU - neighbour wants us to pay

Last year we had our driveway redone which included putting small white stones along the fenced border to our neighbour. We are on a hill and the rain water has led to running off some of the white from the stone on to our neighbour’s driveway which is old red brick and it is now stained in parts.
He claims he has tried to remove the white staining but failed.
We have the same stones in our back garden and there is no staining so it must be due to living on a hill and the water flowing downwards

There should be no mark at all. Plus, they should not have to do any washing. They are entitled to having their driveway as it was before the stones went down.

This has to be a reverse! No one would think they don't have to fix this surely.

I agree this must be a reverse - no one would admit to being this bad a neighbour.

if this is real - OP you lack the basic values that people should have in a functioning society. Go round to the neighbour - apologies and ask what you can do to make it right.

honestly - you should need people in the internet to tell you how to behave like a decent human being

older brick and pressure washing may not be a good mix. This problem needs to be handled carefully so more damage isn’t done.
