Childhood immunisations

Posting for traffic - sorry.

DD is 4 in July, had 1 set of immunisations 6in1 and MenB in 2021- I don't need to be told I should got them sooner I know I fucked up, I was stupid, thought the people around me knew better and listened to them.

Then we moved house and struggled to get into a GP surgery for ages and when we did get into one had to be moved 2 weeks later.

Now we're in a GP, and I've tried calling doctors but nurse is never available to talk, she has an appointment Monday for some imms but I'm unsure which ones will be given at this point as I know she's past the age for some of them.

Just wondering if anyone knows if having them done late causes more side effects? What side effects to look out for, I've purposely not googled the imms as I do suffer with anxiety- clearly.

As stated she's only had 1 shit of 6in1 and the MenB.

I don't think having them later has any impact on side effects - for what it's worth, none of my 3 have had any worse side effects than a bit of a temperature after some of the jabs, for a day, and a bit of a sore arm. So please don't worry about side effects.

And please don't let them being late with their jabs stop you from doing them at all. Once they have them, they're protected. That's the important thing, not how old they are when that happens.

My advice would be before she has them done make sure you have asked all of your questions about a schedule for future vaccinations. If she is upset after the vaccines then you won't want to hang around asking questions.

We had them done around the same age for one of mine and he didn't have any side effects at all. I was really worried about it the same as you but he was really brave at the time and all was fine after. Obviously I can't say whether it will be the same for you but my son's age didn't seem to influence the side effects. He was actually very happy when he came out because they gave him a sticker and a mini packet of chocolate buttons for every jab he had done!
