Would you expect to be told if your 3.5 yo is in a speech and language group at nursery?

So I found out through the nursery app my 3.5yo is in a speech and language group at nursery with 2 other children.
First I've heard of it... Would you expect to be told this was happening? Just wondering if I am "justified" in a bit of a moan about it to the manager. Or do all kids do this? Or is it nothing?

Depends if this is something all children do - some language development work at some point during the day, or if it is something additional that they are benefitting from that all dc don't get.

YANBU to want to be consulted.

But you're very lucky that the nursery appear to be very on it. The earlier the better with speech therapy.

So yes, I would want to speak to them to understand where your child is at, but I wouldn't be complaining they're being proactive.

Your child may not be in need of the speech and language support as such, they might be the good role model they need in the group. Also ime most of the children want a turn in the group as it looks fun and they enjoy it! Worth querying but not necessarily something to be concerned about.

Not complaining about her having the support, just thought I might be told it was going to happen??

As @Rainraingoaway21 says, it might be they asked to join what looked like something novel, or they were there as a role model.
Of course it makes sense to just ask what it was about, to find out more.

None of us on here know why they were doing what they were doing.
