To still have the vaccination?

Dd is due her 1 year vaccinations tomorrow but has had a runny nose and cough since last week. I always assumed this meant the vaccinations can go ahead however looking online it now seems to suggest that if it's a mild illness with no temperature they can go ahead. Is this the case? Has anyone vaccinated their little ones while poorly and was it all ok?

It's fine,if people cancelled for every sniffle then no kids would get vaccinated. They will ask beforehand any way so if there's any doubt they won't do it.

It's personal preference, they can and will do them but won't judge if you ask to delay for a week or til next available slot.

Is there a reason why they delay them? Can it make it less effective or something?

No it wouldn't be less effective, but sometimes they get a temperature or a rash from the vaccinations, mine all got high temperature for 24 hours following MMR. If they're already running a high temperature that's not recommended, or if they're coughing a lot and spreading germs about, bit of a sniffle, mild temperature go ahead.

I wouldn't, but that's because I like to be able to tell if what is happening afterwards is a side effect of the vaccination or because LO is unwell.

There's no change to the effectiveness of the vaccine.

It will still work fine. Its just if they get (normal, mild) side effects on top of already having illness symptoms they might be a bit miserable, but there's an argument for getting it all over with at once.
