When did you feel like an adult?

I'm 38 and I definitely don't feel like an adult.

I have a nice house, a husband, I work part time, volunteer, have a few friends and hobbies, but I feel like I go through most of life pretending to be a responsible adult...

Maybe because I don't have kids? Curious to see if any parents feel the same!

Whenever we take the DC on holiday I feel like an adult. For some reason, that feels so grown up - choosing a holiday and packing and taking them there. I do love it Grin

I’ve recently regressed from being an adult. Sold my business, semi retired and working very part time. It’s brilliant no longer being in charge. I work for the new owners and love the freedom from the crushing responsibility.
At home DS is now an adult and will fly the nest soon ( actually not soon enough) I’ve done my job and he is ready, almost, we need a little more work on cooking and cleaning.
So I am ready to have some fun again. Pretending to be a grown up has been such hard work .

When I started training as a nurse. Previous to this, I was always very untidy and late for everything.
The first ward I worked in the Sister would phone the Speaking Clock to confirm a latecomer was indeed late!
