For example: I love the boys name Percy. It a lovely name but feel like it has a certain goofiness to it.

I can’t think of any names like this for girls. Anyone, any ideas? TIA

I actually know a little girl called Nellie. The poor, poor love.

How about Geraldine (the Anglicised version of my own name!), Hester, Enid or Edith? I suppose it all depends on how old your character is, some names simply won't wash with an older character as they might not have even been invented when they were born. Will you be exploring the reason she was named as she was? Or the way she feels about her name? Could be interesting.
