Desperate mum at wits end with sleep… does anyone know if a device such as this exists?

Basically dc 6 months will wake in the night and I turn on white noise/music on my phone and he falls back to sleep within 30 seconds. I have to act quickly otherwise he fully wakes.

He is going into his own room next week. I will have the monitor in my room to hear him but would like to avoid getting up! Is there any device that you can buy where I could switch on the noise from my room (he is next door). I realise I could keep the noise on all night on some white noise devices but that doesn’t work for ds because he then is used to the noise if you see what I mean. So I would need to switch it on there and then to re settle him!

Try the hatch nightlight - it has white noise settings as well as colour changes and you can control it from your phone via Bluetooth

Alexa

You can control it from the Alexa app on your phone or if you have an Alexa in your room too.

I think it’s Ewan the dream sheep that has a sensor and turns on when the baby cries?

NoSquirrels · 06/05/2023 18:53

Seems like Alexa is the answer to me!

Google MyHummy - it's a teddy that senses when baby is waking and the noise comes on, switches off again after a little while. Quite expensive but has longevity. You could keep it just next to the cot if worried about safe sleep guidelines re teddies 🙂

Any Bluetooth speaker will do the trick if it’s plugged in and left on.

Although you’d have to be in the Bluetooth range, is the bedroom next to yours?

dreamersdown · 06/05/2023 18:59

You can do this on the Yoto player using the app.

How big is your house?! My blue tooth connects to things in the garden and my neighbours house 🤣

I can turn lullaby’s on via my phone with my video monitor.

i also have a projector that senses noise and plays white noise (although it can be any noise!) it’s a vtech sleepy sloth and was from memory around £20.

ideally you would want a device that turns on before they wake!

ADHDDDDDDDBOOM · 06/05/2023 19:04

Just buy a small white noise machine and have it on all night.

or get one of those bears that switch on as soon as they hear the baby make a noise.

PrimrosesandPears · 06/05/2023 19:07

lots of baby monitors have sound options including white noise. You can control sound, nightlights etc on the BT one from the base unit or the listening unit so easy to do remotely

Porridgeislife · 06/05/2023 19:09

Just get a Google Mini or Alexa. We pipe white noise, music etc (Spotify or YouTube Music) into my daughters room via Bluetooth which is controlled from my phone.

underneaththeash · 06/05/2023 19:11

Just ignore him, he clearly doesn't need anything except to settle, so allow him the chance to do it himself.

We used Ewan on heartbeat mode. He was brilliant.
