Ok, I just don’t get it. Went to the cinema to see the coronation, not because I’m wildly patriotic but because it’s a historically significant event, it was something a bit different and potentially more atmospheric than watching it in my front room, and our TV is ancient and shit!
People all around me were filming parts of it and taking photos when Charles was crowned. Why? It’s not as though there was no one else capturing the moment (seeing as we were watching the BBC footage!) and they weren’t seeing it in person. And I really can’t see that a photo taken of a cinema screen is something you would print out and frame. Or even ever look at again.
I accept that I’m a miserable old bag (and am fully prepared for people to tell me that I was BU to watch it at the cinema), but can someone explain why people do this weird having to photograph everything?
