..........to expect my mate NOT to spoil DH's birthday surprise for me??

My birthday next week.

DH has been teasing me about what we are doing -last year we had a weekend away a TOTAL surprise didn't know ANYTHING about it till I opened my card. This is from the man who doesn't DO surprises & is the most unromantic man out so it was lovely.

One of my BF has been on at me to get together for half-term with the kids but hers are off this week, mine were last & I told her I had been told to keep the w/e free as I didn't know what I was doing.

Just got an email.....

"Without giving it away - my DH has been talking to your DH ? next weekend you can?t do. So we will plan another time. Shame ? I was looking forward to seeing you all. "

Oh thanks so now I have a whole week to prepare my "oh what a surprise" face.....grrrrr she could have kept schtum.

Don't understand.

hunkermunker · 17/02/2008 22:43

Happy birthday though.

Sorry just cross & hammered out a post.

Best friend has practically told me Dh has a surprise w/e away booked for us as a birthday present.

Now I have to PRETEND to be surprised instead of enjoying being genuinely surprised at whatever it is he has arranged for me.

I don't understand - you said to friend you had been told to keep the weekend free - if you already knew that, then it doesn't sound from what you have said like your friend divulged anything you didn't already know.

hunkermunker · 17/02/2008 22:53

Just enjoy your weekend and be grateful youy didn't just get a cheese slice.

cluelessnchaos · 17/02/2008 22:55

you still dont know anything other than you are doing something, might not be going away, dont get your hopes up, might be a pie and bovril at the match

bossybritches · 18/02/2008 06:34

hunker -or a set of car mats like one christmas prezzie!!

TC- I wanted to organise a birthday party & DH said firmly no.I looked at him & said "are we doing something?" & he just smiled mysteriously & said "we might be" but would say no more.

So as clueless says could be a footie match (even he wouldn't -would he???!!!)

Thing is I know he'd normally jump at the chance to have these friends to stay her Dh is his BF so for him to put them off there must be something afoot.

Never mind all will be revealed in due course!!!
