AIBU to expect DD2's godparents to remember her birthday?

I'm not talking about presents etc, just a phone call or card???? Did you all chose fantastically involved godparents?

I wouldn't have wanted to chooe someone else at short notice to be DD's godfather just because the person we had chosen was too ill to travel on the day

Sorry, I meant you can become a godparent in absentia. And they are only gone for three year.

Thanks TheFallenMadonna, LMT starting to feel a bit insecure here! I had these visions of her having these other special adults at her 18th/21st and wedding etc. Getting over it now, I didn't have godparents and turned out perfectly um well ok.

We actually made it clear when we asked them that we are not hoping for presents, but involvement, and perhaps someone else who is seen as more 'cool' than parents who can be of assistance/guidance in teen years etc. For now, I was hoping for interest in milestones, etc.
