Anyone dealt with Hellix debt recovery?

Posting here for traffic

has anyone dealt with hellix debt recovery before?

I keep getting emails from them saying I owe money and that they will take me to court, these emails have come out of now where and don't say what the debt is actually for. They also have my name spelt incorrectly so seems a bit sketchy.

but having looked online it seems they are a real debt collections agency?
I've tried emailing them multiple times but no response but they still keep sending me the same threatening emails.

just wanted to know if anyone had dealt with them before / are they legit?

Is it this firm? https://register.fca.org.uk/s/firm?id=001b000000o7NErAAM

They’re authorised by the FCA for some of their debt collecting activities but it depends on the type of debt it relates to. Use the contact details from here to check if it’s the same firm that’s contacting you as there’s lots of scam firms out there.

If they have spelt your name wrong and don’t say what the debt is for it sounds like a scam.
I wouldn’t even bother trying to contact them I would block the email address and move on. If you do have any debt believe me they will find you they will send a letter to your address for starters.

Just emails sent to the wrong spelling of your name? It's almost certainly a scam from someone pretending to be the company.

Personally I would block the address the emails are coming from and ignore, I may independently (not from the email!) get the phone number for the real company and give them a call - just say you're getting unexpected emails from someone you believe is pretending to work for them, can I check if there's any truth to what they say?

They should be able to quickly tell you if they're chasing you for debt.
Another thing to try is a credit check on yourself, this should highlight any missed payments or fraudulent activity that may have occurred.

Yes it is that firm, does that mean it's legit?
it just seems all really odd

No it doesn’t, lots of scammers pretend to be legit firms. I’d call the number from the link and check if the contact you’ve been receiving from them. You can then either ignore if it’s a scam or deal with it if it’s legit.

I know this is an old post but thought I’d update with my interaction with them.
They are contacting me regarding a debt in someone else’s name. The woman has mistakenly given my phone number and I’ve informed them of this via email and phone.
They Keep contacting me though!
I tried to call them again today and they were so rude and threatening. I wouldn’t give them my name as I don’t believe that they are a reputable company. The man said, “you haven’t withheld your number so we will soon find out who you are”. I asked if they were threatening me and they hung up.

I contacted Citizens Advice and they said they are a legitimate company but seem shady.
I’ve reported them to the police on 101. I’d urge you to do the same but do not give Hellix your personal details in any circumstance.
