I interviewed for a job last week and I felt that the interview went really well, which is not something I feel often.
It's a really good opportunity for me - it would allow me to change careers while still being financially comfortable and there aren't many opportunities like this going.
There are quite a lot of jobs going (more than ten) and I believe that there were about double the amount of people being interviewed than there were places.
The email I received that contained the interview invitation said that everyone would be told the outcome by the end of this Friday. During the interview itself they confirmed I'd hear back towards the end of this week.
I'm probably being really ridiculous and impatient but I am really starting to lose hope. I feel like if I'd been successful then I'd have heard already. Even though they say towards the end of the week, surely the successful people get told first so that they can choose to accept the offer or not? Because if they declined it would go to the next person down on the list?
Or does it not always work like that?
As I said it's a very good opportunity so, although I assume they'd tell the successful people early in case someone declined, I'd be surprised if anyone actually declined.
I just keep thinking about it and wanting it so badly.
YABU - if they say the end of the week then wait until the end of the week before assuming.
YANBU - usually the successful people hear before the "you will be told by" deadline.
