Wondered if there were many people on here who, like me, have really low energy?

I have autoimmune illnesses and after a traumatic period of bereavement I feel I have even less energy than usual. Physical and mental. Oh well.

My day was pretty shit today, unfortunately. So far

I have post herpectic neuralgia (nerve pain after shingles) and I'm on a low of pain meds which make me tired (but think am generally tired anyway

Sitting in bed with a hot water bottle. It is a lovely day and keep thinking should try and get outside. Have managed to put a wash on but have not washed up the porridge pots from breakfast yet nor have I had a shower.

Oooooh I do feel for you!! Shingles is horrific and the effect it can have is shocking!!!! Xx I think everyone on this thread deserves medals just because we crack on with life and are more or less told "but you don't look Ill" xxx I'm prescribing self care days (where possible) xxxx

I'm only 4 months into long covid but I seem to get worse each month. I'm on long term sick leave and have accepted that I'm not going to be able to return as it's just too physical (hca) but have found out today that I've got an interview for another job that will hopefully involve a lot more sitting down. But I don't know whether to cancel as even a sitting down job seems too much on some days.

Anyway, back to today. I've done some simple stretches, meditated, done a few housework jobs and rested when I previously would have ploughed through it so I'm having a good day. Hugs to everyone else suffering from fatigue and chronic pain. It's so hard.

I'm intrigued to know what people define as low energy. Because my energy levels are my normal.

I know when I am low energy when I am at my worst. It's when I am achieving a lot for me that's difficult to define.

Also.there seems to be a different level of abilities on the thread. Some of which I think look like lots of energy... Which leads me to wonder whether my perception is seriously screwed! (Autism)

I have bipolar II so mine varies. Also PCOS so very tired before periods.

Normal - can work, go a walk etc and just sleep at night.

Low energy, I'll only work core hours (really short) 10am - 4pm, log off at lunch to sleep, sleep all evening and catch up on work a full day at the weekend.

I basically eat a lot of microwave food, toast, cereal etc

I also need at least three coffees a day to function.

What people on standard mn 'what are you doing today' threads do on their off days/lazy days sounds like a busy/ full on day to me!

Like people taking DCs swimming then coming back by 10am!

For me swimming would take a rest day before, a rest day after and nothing else that day.

Coming in and out of the house more then twice a day feels like a lot to me. I don't cope well with a lot of transitions (asd).

I only wash once a week as it takes all my spoons for a day.

I only make myself 3 or 4 meals a week out of 28. I'd just not eat/eat junk as I don't have the energy to make 3 meals every day. If I made 3 meals in one day it would take so much out of me I'd not be able to do anything else that day.

People who don't suffer from full body fatigue can't imagine what it's like. They can only relate through the lens of what they've experienced.

I'm much the same as you. Going swimming would be the only thing I could do in a day, and at the moment probably a week! Even an hour talking to a friend has floored me and I feel dreadful two days later. It's miserable.
