Is there a progressive fitness workout / routine for core strength.

I’m 36 and very sedentary. My posture is poor, my stamina is poor. I sit all day and am stiff when I get up. I am always pulling muscles in my neck and shoulders, probably due to poor posture. I am not overweight in theory (bmi 23) but I am ‘overfat’ (bodyfat 33%).

I cannot perform a single pushup. I hate exercise, but only because it’s exhausting and I’m unfit. If I was more capable, I might be more keen to work out.

I am looking for a programme to work on at home, for core strength (to sort out my posture and back aches and pains). It needs to start really slow and gentle, because otherwise I will pull a muscle / get fed up and quit. But iver time I would like the programme to get more challenging, at my own pace. Like a couch-to-5K for core strength building.

Can anyone recommend something like this?

Thank you!

Try looking at couch 2 fitness

Peloton has three different progressive programs.

You can do them at home through the app.

I think I have some spare logins if you'd like

Here are some examples.

Pilates is also excellent for core.

I would recommend an app called Fiton or FitnessBlender on youtube. You can choose what you want to work on and both give options depending on your fitness level. I've used them for a few years.

Both are free too!

I think barre is great for core and full body strength. I do 30 mins a day. I use beachbody.com; you do have to pay but it’s worth it. There’s loads of programmes in there for all types of fitness training depending on what you like

Pilates. Better if you can have some private lessons first - basics and correct form are very important. But it can change your life

Brilliant, thanks for the suggestions, I will check these out!
