Had some blood tests done the last day or two and I keep worrying about getting the results back - how do you not worry about it during the days you are waiting?

I try to tell myself that worrying doesn't change the situation it just makes the situation more unpleasant. Try to completely forget about it by doing things you usually would or enjoy. Easier said than done, I know!

It's difficult. Had a test last year and was told GP needed to see me as one result was a bit high. Spent 3 weeks worried and was told it was a false negative. Glad it was but was annoyed at it being made out there was something wrong. (had been diagnosed with something and GP wanted to know if there's a cause for it - there wasn't)

Both myself and my daughter have had bloods repeated because they’d haemolysed or some other issue in the lab

Has anyone else had to have them repeated because of a lab issue?

Yes and I've been the scientist who has had to request countless repeats.....it's not always the lab either we just get blamed if the clinician has messed up. If we had faulty equipment it's rare to cancel them as they get shipped out to a partner lab or rerun once the issue is noticed/repaired. We have to keep the samples for a week for this reason.

We call out all critical results so I generally cope with my own samples, that if I haven't been called by 6am the next day they aren't going to kill me quickly 🤣🤣 we make the worst patients tho so maybe not the best way of dealing with it!
