Posting here because i'm desperate for an answer, can't find anything on google.
Ex is trying to get an ajournment - to allow him more time to cobble togther a case. He has sent via his solicitor - he has the right to representation that knows the case ? Is this bollocks ? I didn't think anyone had the right to representation over money in a divorce case - I certainly didn't have it at any stage.

There is only a right to legal aid where the DCs' welfare is involved, or where there has been DV and the children are at risk (that's a very brief summary).

However if he is paying for his own solicitor yes he can insist that he sticks with the same one even though it's a financial hearing. And may well do so just to prolong the agony for you. Has he had representation before?

Yes she has represented him before, then he represented himself for 2 years now he has tried to get an adjournment because she isn't available on the day despite having had a months notice and this popped up two days before the hearing - it's delaying tactics

He can try but its unlikely it would be granted.

Many cases I've been involved with couldn't get the same barrister due to a clash of dates or illness but their requests for an adjournment were denied.

One woman was overdue with a supporting medical report and was still denied. Her waters broke going in. Some judges are a law unto themselves.

The judge refused to ajourn for me because i couldn't arrange childcare - one rule for one apparently . Judgement was also delayed whilst his barrister went on holiday, i couldn't believe it.

Pray for me this has been dragging on for years
