To have a kids party during the coronation

My son is turning 5 and we are having a party for him at home, bouncy castle party tea etc. parents can drop off or stay for a drink.

Just realised it is during the actual coronation time, would this bother you?! Party is 1.30-3.30. I mean it wouldn't bother me, but would you still come?!

No one I know is planning on watching the Coronation so we would definitely accept the party invite.

I would be frustrated.
This is a major historic occasion that not that many people have experienced.
Whether I would accept the invitation or not would depend on how close the dc were. As parents, we often suck things up, as part of parenting, but if it were a whole class party and not a close friend party, I probably would decline. If it were someone close I'd just be a bit frustrated.

The actual ceremony is at 11 so maybe the second procession will be around 12.30. It is probably just balcony appearances that people might be missing.

Won't it be available on catch up if people miss it? It's not like a sporting match where they might hear the result.

To be fair, I might be more inclined to watch it if they had people lobbing the crown up the Abbey with points for whose head it landed on.

we Would have other plans

Thanks all, I guess it also just dawned on me that people may have made other plans... it was a bit of a last minute hiring of the bouncy castle!
