AIBU to be fed up with men talking over me

Two different meetings at work today and men have take it upon themselves to talk over me. I don't know if I just don't notice it, but to me this doesn't seem to happen to other men in the same way. I guess there is a possibility that I am particular boring, irrelevant or longwinded but I doubt it.

AIBU to be fed up with it? Am I alone in my experience?

Call them out on it every single time. Or just raise your voice and carry on talking. Don’t stop talking or hesitate. Practise this, it’ll come naturally soon enough!

God this used to happen to me. All the time. Or a man would repackage or literally just repeat what I’d said and everyone would agree with him and credit him with the point being made.
Just one of the many many many reasons I stepped back from corporate life.

This!

I am the one and only female in my workplace, and this happens 10 x per day, first time I let them, second time I continue talking whether anyone's listening or not, third time I walk away. I appreciate that walking out may not be suitable during a meeting though.

Today it was (1) someone quite a lot more senior than me and (2) a customer so it would probably have come across inappropriate. But yes, I hear you. I'm just annoyed that I have to kick up a fuss. My company is 75% men, mainly white and middle aged, and I am fed up. I am relatively senior too.

My husband started doing this to me. I kept talking but got louder. Then told him he was being bloody rude and to stop it.

Oh I constantly get talked over by all - friends, Dh, strangers we might have stopped to chat with while walking our dog etc.

A few people I'm close to don't do it but these others make me feel worthless and pointless and I'm getting quite a complex about it, like I have nothing remotely interesting to say.

I spent some time at the weekend with a new acquaintance who actually asked me questions and listened to my responses.
I was shocked at how unusual this was for me and how validated I felt!

I’ve found a well-deployed ‘You’re talking over me Bobtopher, can I finish my point?’ gets the job done 99% of the time.

Jackie Weaver's book You Do Have the Authority Here is quite useful on this.

Bobtopher 😂

I was sharp with DH the other day and he actually apologised the next day, and said it was disrespectful of him.

I nearly fell over.
