Not AIBU but question on Collagen/multi vit

Boring question, but looking at taking collagen supplements or a multi vitamin but it's a minefield!

I know diet is best, but I don't eat meat, fish or eggs, so I think I need a supplement of some kind.

I'm in my forties, pigmentation spots, fine lines, dull skin, thinning hair etc.

I don't mind if the product isn't vegan as my reasons for not eating meat and fish aren't ethical .

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Interesting article here:

It got me taking high dose collagen which I swear makes a big difference to my joints and has a supposed side benefit on skin and nails. I do notice when I've stopped taking them for a few weeks.

I also take a multi vitamin/minerals on a hit and miss basis. Even if not needed, it's not doing any harm and I do tend to neglect myself food wise a bit. I also take extra Vit D over winter. Thinning hair can be low iron, so a multivitamin with minerals could help.

I get big bottles from Holland and Barrett when they are on sale and cheap Vit D from the supermarket.

The surprising supplements doctors take themselves

It comes after an ex-adviser to the Government’s Committee on Safety of Medicines, Dr Paul Clayton, claimed that 90 per cent of supplements ‘have no measurable benefits’.
