Shamelessly posting here for traffic. Sorry.

ive felt dreadful since Monday morning when I woke up with a general feeling of illness. It’s steadily got worse throughout the week to the point where I cannot sleep because I’m a sweaty shivering mess in bed.

Symptoms are:

  • fever/chills
  • Awful headache and whooshing in ears
  • stomach pain that changes location
  • nausea
  • slight pelvic pain when I pee
  • aches, pain and general misery

I’m not pregnant. It’s not covid. I had my appendix out as a child. Otherwise fit and healthy. Everyone else in the house is well.

I’m never ill like this and can’t put my finger on what could be wrong and what to do. Do I continue to tough it out? Would I be over reacting if I called 111?

YukoandHiro · 16/04/2023 06:28

Yes see them today. Could be a kidney infection which get serious v quickly

Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels · 16/04/2023 06:32

I've had most of these symptoms recently (4 weeks post c section) and ended up on IV antibiotics as I went downhill quite quickly. Definitely call 111.

GoodChat · 16/04/2023 06:55

I think it's probably a kidney infection, too. Definitely get seen.

NotCopingWell1 · 16/04/2023 07:57

Definitely try 111. Sorry you're so poorly. You can do it online too and I had super speedy responses back recently (from triage, and then clinician and then with an appt for our of hours).

Hope you feel better soon. Contacting 111 now will hopefully mean you get seen in out of hours and don't have to go to A&E which sounds like it would just be awful for you right now.

Thanks all. I phoned 111 who were brilliant. I have been admitted to hospital with suspected kidney infection.
