AIBU to go to the job interview?

I am a single mum and I have a job interview coming up for part time work in something that I am very experienced in so would be ideal for me.

The problem is if I was offered the job childcare would be difficult to sort. I have 2 pre school aged children. One currently does part time preschool (but the hours don't fit with the job) and my youngest isn't at nursery yet. Childcare is difficult to source in my town. Childminders are usually fully booked, the preschools only run for a short day term time and the private nurseries have long waiting lists.

I have no family who could offer regular childcare and the children's Dad works shifts so can't commit regularly either.

I'm not currently working but childcare is going to be a barrier to whatever job I apply for.

So AIBU to go for the interview and sort it out after if they offer the job? Or should I withdraw my application now?

YABU - Don't go for the interview it's a waste of everyone's time

YANBU - Go and sort it out after if offered the job.

Don’t opt out before you really know if you have the job and what hours you are looking for.

Eg you might find a childminder who is flexible or be able to change hours at nursery.

How?

Personally I wouldn’t waste their time if I knew I couldn’t meet the hours.

Go for the experience/practice if nothing else. Try and get childcare if you get offered the job. If you can’t you can’t but you’ll have learnt a lot through the whole process.

If you apply you don’t know where it might lead. If you don’t it definitely won’t lead to anything.
