How many calories did I eat?

Shameless name change and posting here for traffic and the fun of the replies AIBU attracts.

I went into our nearest city earlier this week. It's something I do rarely and the attached food list is something I'd eat maybe three times a year at the most.

Before people faint in horror I'll repeat that it's something that would happen three times a year, if that. I'm a healthy weight with a BMI of 22. My cholesterol levels are on the low side. BP fine, other bloods fine. Not diabetic or anything and I'm usually careful with my diet and very active.

Porridge with golden syrup.
Tea, no sugar
Starbucks caramel coffee Frappuccino
Starbucks cinnamon swirl
McDonald's meal of vegetable deluxe, medium fries, medium Fanta.
McDonald's Creme Egg McFlurry and finished off my child's Oreo McFlurry-probably a quarter of it.
5 butter biscuits from M&S
More tea, no sugar.

How many calories would you say I consumed?

2500? Pure guesswork. I do have my fitness Pal but CBA to look all that up 😂

@AHugeTinyMistake

hahahah no! It’ll be way more than that!
maybe 4000

Holeymoleymacaroni · 14/04/2023 17:28

I guess 2250?

@Holeymoleymacaroni

its way more than that!

Carishina · 14/04/2023 18:12

About 2400 but depends on how much porridge you had and the size of the Starbucks drink so could be higher?

brooksidebackside · 14/04/2023 18:13

caloriesforfun · 14/04/2023 16:52

I know how many, I'm asking if others know how many calories that would be 🙄

Why do you think anybody would care enough to try and work this out?

GetYourActTogether1 · 14/04/2023 18:14

The Starbucks alone is about 950 calories.

3WildOnes · 14/04/2023 18:18

2350

uncomfortablydumb53 · 14/04/2023 18:19

Around 3,500
The Frappuccinos are very highBUT as long as you enjoyed everything I'd say it's fine

Greensleevevssnotnose · 14/04/2023 18:20

5000 way too much sugar and sat fat but as a one off nothing to write about

MagiMagic · 14/04/2023 18:21

2750

ShortSilence · 14/04/2023 18:23

hmm, thanks but I will pass up the ‘fun’ opportunity you offer here Confused

Oysterbabe · 14/04/2023 18:24

It's obviously quite a lot to eat but it's not so much as to make it shocking or interesting. Just a fairly boring, unhealthy day.

@AHugeTinyMistake

maybe 4000

It won’t be anywhere near 4000. According to the nutritional calorie counters on the websites the fast food was:

Starbucks cinnamon swirl - 479
Starbucks caramel Frappuccino - between 197, 275, 323 or 437 calories depending on size
McDonalds veggie deluxe burger - 361
medium fries - 337
medium Fanta - 76
creme egg McFlurry - 336
1/4 oreo McFlurry - 65 (258 for whole thing)

That’s between 1,851 to 2,091 calories depending on size of Frappuccino.

M&S butter biscuits are 42 calories per biscuit so 210 for 5 makes 2061-2,229.

A cup of tea is only about 15 calories. Porridge varies depending on portion size, whether made with milk or water and amount of syrup but not likely to be more than 500 even if a huge syrupy bowl. Unlikely to be hitting 3000 calories let alone 4000.

Pestispeeved · 14/04/2023 19:26

I'm just waiting for the update about the kebab for dinner.

I also want the update tomorrow about what food cravings happen.

For @caloriesforfun this is a random fun blow out day, for many it is a fairly average day.

Ah well done! I thought it was a reasonable guess 👍

I hope you enjoyed it all OP - good to have a blow out now and again.

UndercoverCop · 14/04/2023 21:28

That's not a blow out that's quite a lot of sugar and a McDonald's. How many steps did you do? Last time I went into London I walked 25000 steps, which would mean 3000 calories not a huge issue.

Greentree1 · 14/04/2023 21:32

Too many if you are trying to lose weight, otherwise who cares.

5128gap · 14/04/2023 21:37
IamSuperTired · 14/04/2023 21:39

About 2500 to 3500

knobheadex · 14/04/2023 21:55

Couldn't give a shit mate.

TheBugWife · 14/04/2023 22:03

Wow so many bitchy replies - is it a full moon!

I agree with approx 3000 calories OP.

lljkk · 15/04/2023 08:26

How does anyone answer these questions without more info, like porridge portion size? Without googling I came up with 2026 as guess, numbers below after I googled, came to ~2500.

Porridge with golden syrup. (assume almost invisible portion, 200 kcal)
Tea, no sugar (with milk? assume 60 kcal max all portions together)
Starbucks caramel coffee Frappuccino (Google says 338 kcal)
Starbucks cinnamon swirl (Google says 479 kcal)
McDonald's meal of vegetable deluxe, medium fries, medium Fanta. (diet fanta or full sugar one? I gather that's a burger, Google says 361 for just burger, 323 for fries, assume diet Fanta, so let's try 700 kcal total)
McDonald's Creme Egg McFlurry and finished off my child's Oreo McFlurry-probably a quarter of it. (Google says 336 kcal for the McFlurry, I'll assume 80 kcal for quarter of other, so 416 kcal total)
5 butter biscuits from M&S (how big are those? I'll try 300 kcal total)

I come up with 338+ 60+100+479+700+416+300 => 2390. About what I need daily, too. FAnta medium with sugar is 76 kcal, maybe? would bump up to ~2470. 2700 if biscuits are bigger. Easy to have burned it off if walking for hours.
