To think there must be a way to get rid of horrendous under eye bags

I’m 40, in great shape, sleep enough. I have had a lot of trauma and stress. Eat ok. Do drink but not to excess. And I have huge bags always under my eyes. Not ‘dark circles’ but huge bags. How can I get rid of them, if at all? Cucumber slices won’t cut it pals. Does anyone have ideas? Willing to try anything

Pile cream?

Jagoda · 13/04/2023 20:42

Mine are LOADS better since I quit the booze completely.

Leopardlives · 13/04/2023 20:50

I’m reluctant to totally quit the booze. Lots of my friends drink and don’t have them. I mean what are they? What’s in them

Any chance you would be brave enough to post a photo?

Leopardlives · 13/04/2023 20:53

No. But imagine a quite attractive 40 yr old with an Uma Thurman shaped thinnish face but with what look like two gyoza dumplings under her eyes

Is it a recent thing or have you always had some puffiness there? I have eye bags that are genetic, getting worse with age. There's nothing I can really do that will make a difference other than surgery unfortunately!

Leopardlives · 13/04/2023 20:56

I have always had some, yes. What kind of surgery would it be? I am sick of them and would consider anything

Surgery would be under eye blepharoplasty, though I can't profess to know much about it other than the name!
For me, while the level of puffiness or the colour can change slightly with tiredness/allergies etc, the shape - half circle bags that are raised - are always there, it's just the structure I was born with. Sadly I know this because my siblings and dad have exactly the same, hence knowing it's hereditary and cucumber slices aren't going to change them!

I go for the cheaper option of wearing oversized glasses that disguise/distract from them.

BlackFlyChardonnay · 13/04/2023 21:10

That sounds genetic rather than lifestyle. Would probably take surgery to fix.

AlexandraJJ · 13/04/2023 21:12

Have you tried lumie eyes?

GCWorkNightmare · 13/04/2023 21:13

Aquitaine booze, more water, less salt.

GCWorkNightmare · 13/04/2023 21:13

*quit booze

Snapfel · 13/04/2023 21:15

I've suddenly developed them since I started venlafaxine.

Leopardlives · 13/04/2023 23:11

I think it is partly genetic. Still hate it though

as another post has said.. you’ll need surgery to remove the excess fat pads.
