Me and one of my junior colleagues (I'll call them C) have the same manager. I work closely with this C on projects, and recently we have been working together on a pretty challenging project. C took the lead on the project initially, but recently as it's gotten more complex I've taken more of a lead on it and the C has been supporting.
We were both in a meeting with around 4 others, including our manager. We started talking about the project, and my manager interrupts to say how well I've done on the project, and what a great job I've done. I interrupt and say how C has helped a lot on it, and been really great with it and my manager just ignored it. This has happened twice now in a meeting, where in front of colleagues my manager will make a reference to my contribution to the project and ignore C's contribution.
C is leaving soon as they are moving to another city, and I mentioned how I'm going to miss them as they are a great member of the team and my manager interrupts to say that as great as they are, nobody is irreplaceable and we'll be just fine without them (in front of the junior colleague).
AIBU to think this is rude?
