Too old for a holiday buggy?

We are going to Fuerteventura in a couple of weeks to visit some family, this will be the first time we have taken DD away with us before. I am slightly worried about DD in the heat and her getting tired. She isn’t the best walker if we are out for a long time. We still have her buggy that we occasionally use and I am thinking about taking it away with us.

For reference she is 4, is this being unreasonable?

Definitely take it! Great for hanging bags on, if she's too tired to walk as well as if she needs a nap. Plus gives you the option if you want to walk a bit further.
Have a lovely holiday.

Absolutely take it!! Mine use it on holiday and it’s a life saver. Plus nice when you’re somewhere unfamiliar and busy to know they’re strapped in safe. And useful to keep DC protected in shade when you’re on a long walk or out and about

Busybody2022 · 13/04/2023 13:54

I would for naps if nothing else

Abouttimemum · 13/04/2023 13:55

Yep take it!

Rumplestrumpet · 13/04/2023 13:55

Of course you can take it. Worst case case scenario : you don't use it 🤷‍♀️

No harm having it so she can rest if you want to go for a long walk

You do you - if you think it’ll help, bring it with.

My eldest is 4 and I still take the double buggy when we’re going on trips/out all day. He sometimes takes a quick nap and it stops the whinging if he’s tired and doesn’t feel like walking. Absolutely do it!

I would definitely take it. I took our travel buggy on a day to London with my eldest when she was almost 5. We weren't going to be leaving the theatre until late and had a forty minute walk to the train station after. It was definitely needed. She sometimes gets in the double buggy if my middle child wants to walk for a bit

When ds was 4 one August we took one. He started school when we got back that September!
Ime anything that makes a holiday with dc more of a holiday!Or trust me op you will become a pack horse of you don't.. Dh be carrying whining dc. And you will be managing all manner of holiday paraphanalia...

Definitely take it
Even if she's a good Walker the heat may tire her out, and she can nap if you go out for an evening meal
It's also useful to carry bags for the beach!

samantha0709 · 13/04/2023 15:22

Yes take it. I even had my almost 5yo in one at disney and it was a lifesaver.

Createausername1970 · 13/04/2023 15:27

Take it! Nothing worse than a tired child at the end of the day. I didn't take ours to Disney in Florida when our boy was 5 - and ended up buying a cheap one at a local Walmart. He could then choose to walk or sit - and as it was quite busy I was happy to have him strapped in to the buggy while we were on the move so that I could look round and enjoy the sights myself, without having to be constantly on the watch for him. It made things just a bit more relaxed. And as someone else says, you can hang a bag on the handles rather than carry it.

As an alternative, my dd was 4 when we went away on all AI holiday in a large resort. She hadn't been in the buggy for such a long time that I'm not sure she would've gone in. What we did take was her micro scooter and she LOVED whizzing around as we walked around the resort, to activities, to restaurants etc.

My older child at 5 and 6 would still climb into double buggy for a snooze if put all day lol
