Hysterectomy

So I was diagnosed with endometriosis 5 years ago following a lapraocopy. I have suffered crippling pain and awful fatigue for years prior to and after my period. Its been horrendous.
After a year long wait I was seen by my surgeon who is well known as an endo specialist in this part of the country. I pushed for a hysterectomy, he agreed it was the right course of treatment.
Fast forward to a week before my surgery (last week) and my surgeon is changed to someone I've never heard of. I went ahead regardless, as I was desperate to be pain free and live some kind of normality.
I woke in recovery to be told by the gynae reg that they removed some adhesions, that's all I remember as I was really out of it a following drop in my oxygen saturation and just general haziness. I was seen again by the gynae team the following day, I had forgotten all about the previous visit and was just desperate to pee so I could go home (single parent)
Upon discharge the nurse was going through the discharge papers and I noticed it stated no endometriosis noted. I'm so so upset and confused. Have I just undergone a major operation for nothing? Had the surgeon missed something?
I don't have a gynae follow up unless histology suggests I need one.
Hormonal, in pain and annoyed.
What would you do?

Ask to go through the notes properly and to discuss everything you've just mentioned

Maybe it means no more endometriosis notes now you've had surgery

Does your paperwork have the op note in? Either ask gynae surgeon secretary for a follow up appointment to discuss it or write a them a letter with your concerns and they can answer (may be quicker than waiting for appt).
have you ever had previous surgery on your abdomen or were adhesions seen during this op attributed to previous endometriosis?

I've had a hysterectomy for the reasons exactly as you desribe above, although I never had an endometriosis diagnosis but I suffered with horrendous paid since I was 11. So I was just glad to see the back of everything and pain free.
