Wfh power plays

Is it odd that a supervisor wfh(refuses to come in on request from the director) but forces others in on the pretext they need supervision in person...even though they are not there?
Also the supervisor does not let reliable older mature employees wfh either to retain them
On top of that the supervisor is suspected by many of not actually working very hard at all at home?
All this creates a sense that the supervisor works very little and forces others in so the team is visible and it safeguards the supervisors job

Thoughts Welcome

Your suspicions may well be right.

I am surprised they can ignore the directors request without good reason though. Maybe something you are not aware of eg mental health problems, menopause issues, caring responsibilities. There might be a huge row going on involving HR for all you know.

And having a defensible reason for wfh doesn't mean they could not also be skiving.

In all honesty it's not within your control (unless you are the director) so you may as well mind your own business.

If you're one of the team who want to work from home and the company terms allow it or you have cause to wfh as a reasonable adjustment then start an appeal.

She has childcare responsibilities and refuses to entertain other methods

I don't want to wfh. I used to and did appeal and got permission to do it when necessary for personal reasons(fair enough)
What bugs me is being called lazy and taking ona lot of her duties when an excessive number of people including part of her gang have mentioned (vocally)she doesn't seem to do much
