Overeating and age

I have eaten a lot recently including a massive roast yesterday, an evening meal of snacky bits that filled the plate. And a whole large chocolate egg. Went to bed felt bloated and woke up in the night and was sick several times and then had diarrhoea. Immediately felt better and feel 100% fine today. This has happened a few times in the last couple of years, it's like my body can't cope with the same (too big) portions anymore and I'm having trouble regulating myself. Obviously that's a whole other thread and is very psychological and something I need to really work on. But as a summary is this fairly normal? I'm 39 now and have no other health issues.

YABU age has nothing to do with digestion
YANBU this is normal, we need to eat less with age.

It’s too rich and sickly. I’ve noticed recently (age 47) that I would be happy having eg a sandwich/soup for dinner. I don’t eat breakfast anymore (haven’t for years due to intermittent fasting) and I just feel better in myself after decades of feeling bloated and having acid reflux etc

I've stuffed myself before out if greed and had a gurgly/heavy belly but not thrown up. When I started reading your thread I thought you were alluding to needing less energy as we age then you said you were 39 rather than 69. That doesn't sound right at all.

Can be an early sign of gallbladder issues.

I had my gallbladder removed years ago. Good shout though.

Sorry but I can’t imagine eating so much that I’m physically sick. That amount of food is huge. Surely most adults don’t eat all that in one sitting?

I know I agree. I didn't realise I'd eaten too much until it was too late and I was bloating after. I do tend to pair food with feeling happy or sad so as it was an easter celebration I over ate. I'm working on that and it's linked to some PTSD from childhood. But I clearly need to work harder and be extra careful around period time.
