To spend £4k on my teeth?

I‘ve had wonky-teeth for a while and they are getting worse, making me self conscious though friends say that don’t notice. Getting them fixed with braces will cost around £4k and may not work (orthodontic advice). They will need to file some teeth and maybe an extraction. Am I mad to consider this? We are medium income, (around 60k joint), but I can get a payment plan to pay for the teeth. Anyone else get their teeth done in middle age (I am 46)- was it worth it?

Check out composite bonding - I had (have) a cross bite and gaps up top and generally hated the look of my upper teeth and went for composite bonds over Invisalign. They literally glue what look like veneers over your existing teeth, so no damage is done and they last for years and years. Super fast too. My dentist couldn't believe how natural they look, she said she'd never know they were bonded teeth without having looked inside my mouth. Only downside is that at some point years in the future to have them redone, but then after Invisalign your teeth can move anyway which may need more correction.

I should also add that you cannot tell my teeth are anything other than perfectly straight and even - no idea how they do it but they're a work of art! The gaps and crossed teeth are completely hidden.

I’m doing Invisalign now, very happy with the progress. I got two opinions before I chose who to go with. The first one wanted to remove a healthy tooth but the one I went with said there is no reason to do that.
