To think they are safe to keep and I don't have to get rid of them!

So I have 3 toddler wardrobes in upstairs rooms, they are the IKEA ones and I've had them a couple of years, perfect for kids clothes. I live in a very old house so my house gets mouldy in the winter and then back of the wardrobes have always ended up with mould on them. I've always just wiped it off but are they even still safe to keep? People have said they are dangerous to keep even though they have been cleaned ? I don't have money to just replace them and they are very small and compact so good for my small house. Am I being unreasonable to just clean and keep them or am I risking our health. It was only ever the backboard that was mouldy

The problem isn't just the wardrobe, it's the mouldy house. That's the health risk. Not all old houses have mould, nor should they.

Is the mould on the outside, are they pushed up hard against the wall? They need a bit of air circulation so move them a few inches from the wall. You can get sprays to kill mould so don't just wipe them down spray them and give them a good clean.

If the mould in the house isn't bad then open windows for a bit every day, maybe get a dehumidifier. Mould is dangerous if it gets too bad, if you are in rented property get the landlord to sort it, in the meantime don't dry clothes inside if you can avoid it and try to have windows open a bit.
