Does it take you a couple of days to wind down after finishing work for a holiday?

Just wondering how everyone else starts to unwind after finishing work for a break? Does it take you a couple of days to relax?

It depends. If its just a weekend away- then get started with a glass of vino at 5pm when the computer goes off.

If its a weeks holiday abroad- I generally start to enjoy it once at the hotel.

Nope, I literally relax the second I get home, amongst all the chores lined up of course! I find actually preparing to go away on holiday pretty stressful though but it's usually worth it ...

I’m retired but yes it always did. According to research a week isn’t long enough to completely wind down either, you need at least 8 days.

I need one nights sleep to get over the immediate tiredness of it. As I’ve got older I’ve realised the benefit of “sleeping on it”. By the next day I’m a bit better and by the second day, the week feels far enough in the past for me to relax.

My work is pretty full on and it does buzz around my head for a while. Definitely takes me a bit of time to switch off from it.

Nope. I am on holiday now for a week and haven’t thought about work since midday yesterday when I finished.

Yes it does. That’s also pretty much when I’m guaranteed to get sick and I barely take a sick day when not on holiday 😭

Usually at least 5 days that's why I need two weeks.
