Is it too late to save this pregnancy?

I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant. BPAS have been wonderful and sent me the means to end my pregnancy. Tonight I took pill number one - mifepristone - and immediately felt an overwhelming sadness. I think I made a mistake. Is it too late for me?

You don't have to take the tablets. Until you take them you will remain pregnant. Better to take your time making a reasoned decision than rushing the decision and regretting it later.

Did they not give you a help line number to call if there is a problem?

Doing some quick research, it looks like you just need to not take the 2nd lot of pills and get in touch with a medical professional. There seems to be lots of positive stories out that of those who have taken the first pill and then continued with their pregnancy

She has taken the first tablet. I don't know what affect that will have.

@knobheadex there must have been a reason you went down the termination road, would it help to talk about it?

I’m not sure if this phone number is 24hours, but you could try it and ask if you can stop now or have to continue?

”This first prospective study found that the rate of major malformations after first-trimester exposure to mifepristone is only slightly higher than the expected 2-3% rate in the general population. Such findings provide reassuring data for risk evaluation for continuation of pregnancy after mifepristone exposure.”

Why did you decide to have the abortion OP? You can have an abortion and be sad about it. Feeling sad doesn't mean it's not the best decision for you and your child. But I hope you can save the pregnancy if that's what you do want Flowers

Contact whoever prescribed you the medication. You need an NHS professional (if that’s who prescribed you) rather than following random links on Mumsnet.
