Hi everyone

I've felt poorly for last couple days, tested negative this morning and went to my midwife appointment.

Tested again just now as I've had it once before and I feel exactly the same with the aching bones and muscles but this time I have a cough and can't take a full breath in and it's positive.

Called the midwife advice line and she told me to go to A&E and to drink water. My temp is 38.3.

I was up from 4-6am with stomach and back ache this morning like period pain, my midwife sent my urine off for testing.

Don't feel like I should go to A&E with it because of spreading it I'm so confused and can't get hold of the maternity ward at the moment, any advice?

I don’t mean to worry you but please do go and get checked! I know three people who had covid at this stage and the baby needed to be monitored - two of the three ended up having the baby early.

IMO I would go to the maternity assessment unit asap rather than A and E but I would ring them first so they can prepare an isolated room. The fact you’re having period like pains needs to be properly checked!!!!

Thank you @HappyHolidays22 I got through to the labour ward who said to go to A&E now and they will come down to see me there. X

oh good! Really hope everything goes well and you’re home quickly and not feeling too bad xxx

I had Covid at 32 weeks at the end of 2020. As so little was known then, there was no monitoring or anything! Luckily baby was fine, and evicted at 41+6! Hope all goes well for you, and that you feel better soon.

God I feel horrific. Sats have fallen between 89-92 so they're not happy and I'm having oxygen. Baby is all good on the CTG monitor. I've got to have blood thinning injections for 10 days then on top of that I've got a UTI so antibiotics 😢

Thanks everyone I'm glad I came up. Upside to having covid is getting my own room where it's dark and quiet so can nap in between nurse/obstetrician visits.

I had covid last year when I was 30 weeks pregnant. I had to deliver early as baby stopped growing after I contracted it, I didnt know for 6 weeks. Definitely get it checked out as it can lead to major complications in baby's growth and development. My baby was diagnosed as a IUGR baby and predicted really small birthweight. He was tiny when he was born. I met with couple at the Dr's surgery the other day and the lady had the same story as me with her baby being born tiny too after contracting covid in her pregnancy. Good luck with your pregnancy.

Glad to hear you’re in the right place and being looked after! Private room is a huge bonus!!!

so glad you're being looked after OP and wish you and baby the best Flowers

So sorry to hear this @Floristdreamer is your baby okay now? 💕

Thanks @HappyHolidays22 and @tobi21 xx

@Covidwoes glad your bubs was fine, that's a relief to here. She was certainly happy being monitored last night. I'm praying I can keep enough fluids down as I've also got Hyperemesis. Absolute nightmare x

@elm26 yes my DS is fine now. Nearly 1. He was 5llbs when born so thank God he bigger than the Dr's predicted at 2llbs. I was induced at 36 weeks, ds was small for around 4 months then jumped up 2 centiles and is continuing to grow fine. I think he's slower in some aspects compared to my daughter hopefully he'll catch up fully but it could just be because he's a boy. I've heard boys develop slowly compared to girls. Hang in there you've got this mama! 💐

elm26 · 06/04/2023 10:45

@Floristdreamer So relieved to hear he's okay! They're talking about c section at 36 weeks anyway as I have placenta praevia so I have a scan at 35 weeks and If it's still the same they'll admit me then and get a plan in place.

So anxious due to 13 miscarriages before this little miracle I just want her to be okay 😔 I'm so worried about her as I've honestly never felt this ill and I have an autoimmune disease which has lowered my immune system so I've had proper flu twice and swine flu when it was going around, nothing tops this. Feel like every time I move I'm being stabbed by tiny needles.
