I am extremely anxious. I had a elective C-section due to my anxiety 15 years ago.
I have just discovered I’m pregnant again and I’m driving myself crazy. Will they let me have a C-section again this time? The midwives I’ve spoken to have all said it ‘should be fine’, but it’s just over the phone.

I had a section with DD (3.5yo). When I had my first consultant appointment with this pregnancy he asked about my thoughts about the birth and I said, “I would like another section”, and he said, “Ok no problem”. That was it. I was expecting to have to advocate for myself but none of the three consultants I’ve seen through this pregnancy have asked me to even consider a VBAC.

It sounds like you have underlying conditions which will require consultant led care anyway. I’d say with a previous section, MH concerns re. anxiety plus the NICE guidelines you’ll see little to no resistance to a second section.

I had an emergency c section for my first pregnancy. Then was given the option for c section second time around, unfortunately it doesn't all get arranged until later down the line but you'll certainly be offered the section as you've had it before so don't worry!
