Just that really-she has had a little bit of blood in her wee and is at the vets tomorrow, they want me to try and get a sample?! I don't think running the tap and dangling her over a small pot is going to help me here! Any advice at all???

Our cat would rather go in an empty tray than in the litter. If we have empty litter trays (or the dogs plastic bed) laying around we have to put them upside down or he’ll use them over his lovely clean litter tray. Just a warning when we took a sample of our cats urine that mg DH had painstakingly syringed into the vial the vet told us that it had to be very fresh? The vet ended up tipping it away regardless.

Clean empty litter tray and keep her indoors until she eventually breaks and pees in it.

My parents had to do this with their elderly cat recently. When the vet said they’d need to get a sample they were just like, we’ve owned this cat for 14 years and we’ve never seen him wee in his life. The empty litter tray eventually did it, but he did have to spend 24 hours living in the tiny utility room until he broke and used it.

This. In my experience it takes over 24 hours for them to break and go in the litter tray with non-absorbent crystals. You could maybe speed this up by providing lots of its favourite food mashed up with extra water.

Yep. This is what my cats eat and they pee like racehorses. When my husband is too slow with cleaning litter trays, they won't last and pee to empty one 😬(I always clean one at the time to avoid it). I can recommend stuffing cat on wet food with water.
