To be annoyed with my new driving instructor?

I'm a grown woman (30 this year)
Whenever I do some thing right he says "good girl" (he's 56)

He is lovely and I'm sure means no offense, but I find it patronising.

Get a different instructor.

Yes that would be annoying. I’m a couple of years older than you and currently learning, my instructor has called me a “mature learner” a couple of times that amused me but I suppose I am! I wouldn’t accept the “good girl” though.

I would ask him if he thinks he’s training a dog…

Yuck. Did he previously work in animal obedience training?

I wouldn't say mature learner! I look much younger than I am but I've told him my age and refer to my kids etc. But even if I was 17, I still think good girl is weird.

The last person who call me a "good girl" got told "I am not a fucking Alsatian". It came out my mouth before I even thought about it 🤣 - he apologised and didn't do it again.

Maybe tell him a bit more politely than that, but do tell him.

Just ask him if he'd say 'good boy' to his male students.
