Said my dad.

He then pays £2,500 over the next two months.
Then he pays 8 grand over the next year and then the panels pay for themselves

I'm dumb. I don't own a house and actively avoided legalities of such large decisions my entire life.

Is my dad being scammed?

This deal is £10500 for 10 panels and 2 batteries

That sounds fine then….just make sure he asks about pigeon proofing, the little blighters love a solar panel and end up nesting under them as we found out….and had to sort scaffolding out at a later stage so recommend everyone has this done when panels are installed. If you have the money and are going to be in your house for a few years it’s a no brainer to get solar panels,we earn a couple of grand a year even without a battery (albeit on the old feed in tariff) it’s nice to get given money by your energy company for a change!!!

YY to bird guards - you don't want pigeons setting up home.
