My twin boys are 2 (a few months off 2 and a half). Recently (last couple of weeks) their behaviour (especially older twin has been exhausting- destructive, running into road, screaming no at everything- refusing to listen. Is this our lot now? I know this is normal but is this indicative of things to come?

Follow some gentle parenting accounts like Big Little Feelings and you'll find your way through it. They'll be normal kids, they need some support now to get through toddler hood. Best of luck, twins must be HARD

My youngest child was my worst temper wise by far. He had a semi permanent bruise from head butting the radiator daily during tantrums, he bit his sister, he pulled her hair out in handfuls, I was covered in scratches and bruises from him nipping or scratching when picked up to remove him from situations (like biting or hair pulling!) etc.
He wasn’t a bad child, just had a furious temper and did NOT like the word no or to be thwarted.

He is now 10- from 3.5 he was the most law-abiding child ever at nursery and this has continued through school and beyond. He is so cuddly, hugs everyone, is a delight to everyone he meets and barely has a temper at all. If he does get angry he isn’t violent ever, but might end up crying through anger more often than not.

He is the sweetest child ever.

My daughter had the most extreme temper tantrums possible - almost verging on meltdowns you may see with a non NT kid (she’s NT) - think dropping to the floor yelling in a supermarket; hitting, trying to run away, etc.

Id say she started not long after she turned 1. I don’t have more than a handful of photos of her smiling between 1.5 and about 3.

From 3-5 was just as tough with tempers but she was more settled in between them.

Shes 7 now and she definitely is more dramatic than I feel is typical for a 7 year old.

Mine’s all grown up and is an accountant and drives a Volvo.
At every stage it got better as they gained more control over their life.
it sounds like you are doing a great job. It’s hard.
