How to get over the money lost on a house sale?

Hi,
We were due to move and it's all fallen through. We're on very low incomes with almost no savings and the move was to try to save money on mortgage outgoings.
It's all fallen apart and we won't be able to put it back on the market for various reasons, one being that we can't afford solicitors bills, surveys etc again. We've lost all of our savings, which like I said were minimal anyway, including my inheritance from a relative, it was only £1K but I can't help but feel it was such a waste, and I would have loved to have it again to go on holiday with or something special to remember them by.
I know the money is very small change to most but we're out of pocket 3k and I feel so low about it. There's absolutely nothing to show for it apart from eight months of stress! Not to mention all the hours painting, cleaning, decluttering for the photos. I sold our patio furniture as I didn't want to transport them, gave away my childrens outdoor toys as not much room in the new house.
Cheer me up please, I know it happens to everyone.

I’m so sorry that happened to you. What a shame. Is it possible you might be able to claim a refund of some of the fees you’ve paid? Some bigger estate agents, brokers, conveyancers will refund if the sale collapses through the fault of the other party…

Also on another note, if the new house was going to be smaller it might be nice to focus on enjoyIng the space you get to keep- especially as it’s all freshly cleaned and painted?

@AmericasfavoritefightingFrenchman yeah that is a plus I guess. It was unfortunately our buyers who pulled out as the survey showed something very wrong with our house (which we had no idea about!) and so at the moment I feel kind of trapped in a house which is likely to be expensive to repair in the future. I wish I did love it here and it was a huge relief!

So sorry to hear that the sale has fallen through. Is this something you can work on I mean the thing that is wrong with the house ,like with some savings in due course?

It must be so disappointing op.

If they pulled out that still might be enough for it to be their ‘fault’ for the purpose of refunds?
