I was in Sainsburys yesterday with DH. I needed a new pair of slippers. I joked about him not buying some sexy red undies for me for our WA...he picked up a red lacy thong, turned it around and asked me where the back was.

@housemaus my knickers have a good 2+inches of fabric through the center with more at the front and back after the 4 inch long gusset piece.

The comments from people who have bought them on Shein are saying that they are going to wear them under denim dress/mini skirt or instead of bikini bottoms. They wouldn't look out of place on boat parties etc. Anyone visiting Walmart will get to see them in RL.

Some girls will on a night out. A few years ago we went out during freshers week and women were wearing crop tops that deliberately showed their under-boob - obviously no bra. They could literally not move their arms up or their boobs would be out. I thought they were ridiculous but there were several people wearing them so clearly it was a thing.

As beachware/foam party type occasions in hot places perhaps. Look painful to me.

SHEIN have some very "interesting" barely there outfits, think evening dresses with just strategically placed material

Just because this would happen to you, doesn’t mean it would happen to everyone.
I can’t imagine I’d be comfy wearing them for 12 hours straight, but I’d be contained! 😂
And TBF I would have considered these in my 20’s. Not for popping to the shops, but for a night out, certainly!
But I attend Party In Your Pants where you can wear anything you like, as long as you keep your pants on! No sexual behaviour is allowed at these events. They’re great fun!

Shein sell lots of things almost transparently designed to generate clicks/articles rather than be actually worn. Probably fairly cheap advertising and gets those happy to buy more unusual/club specific clothes on site.

I wouldn't wear it but I'm not the target market. It's aimed at teens pushing boundaries or "rebelling" because they know it will get the reaction from older people that is being shown on this thread. Ultimately if you don't want to wear something, don't, you can judge other people by what they wear but it's their right to wear as little or as much as they like.

After the Ghosts Comic Relef special with Kylie I had to explain to DD2 (13) who Kylie was and showed her the video of Spinning Around, the famous one where she wore gold hot pants and a handkerchief top. Barely there clothes have been fashionable for clubbing for decades. Although Kylie's hotpants look more comfortable than the denim ones.
