.....posters don't read the OP's posts before replying? I totally understand that, on long threads, it can be hard to read all the responses before replying, so sometimes advice/comments are duplicated. But surely reading all the OP's posts is a minimum requirement? Otherwise it's just rude, like having a face-to-face conversation and then, before someone's finished speaking, refusing to listen any further...

Recent examples:
"How long is your maternity leave?" (She's not working.)
"Half the house is yours." (They're not married.)
"Get a cat instead." (Her child is allergic to cats.)

Honestly, it really bugs me!

People can RTFT and still miss things or misread because they’re humans, not robots.

The best one ever was:

I really want advice on which big or giant dog breed I should get …

replies: Jack Russel sounds perfect for you OP

I have noticed this a lot recently - sometimes I think people are not even bothering to read the initial post and are replying just based on the title.
There was one recently where the op was complaining about a dog barking, she said she had reported it to the council multiple times. First reply was 'raise a noise complaint to the council'.
Any many other recently where one of the first few replies has asked a question that is answered in the op or is giving advice that the op has said they have already tried.
