AIBU to only take one of my children to Lapland UK?

I am tempted to try and get tickets for Lapland UK today.
My DC will be 6 when the time comes to visit, and my other will be 2. Would it be mean just to book for myself and my older DC? In the interest of saving money and it just not being that meaningful for the younger one?

Not unreasonable at all.

My youngest will be 3.5, do you think this is old enough if we can manage to get tix?

Heckythump1 · 20/03/2023 10:56

Absolutely fine... we are considering doing something similar ourselves.... eldest nearly 8 and youngest is nearly 3, eldest desperate to go to Harry Potter studios and london museums etc, littlest will likely be bored and not have a clue what's going on!
We will then take littlest for a London trip for her 8th birthday on her own :)
I think it's really important for them to do stuff independently from each other and have time that is specifically for them!

I have got tickets after a right faff! Got day and time we wanted. Better be worth it!!

Yes it's old enough for all the activities (decorating biscuits, helping the elves). There's also ice skating, seeing the huskies etc. My advice would be to take you own food as you have such limited time in the main "village", you don't want to waste it by queuing. We ate lunch on way in car and just had a few snacks while there. Made it much cheaper too!

Thanks, we plan to eat lunch before we go in and then get dinner on the way home. I did read you can't take in your own food and drink, how true is this?

Hope you sorted it, my other half got right to payment and it kicked him out! Luckily I was also in the q!

We just took snacks like biscuits, and I took a bottle of squash for my daughter. No one said anything :)

For other days out I would say definitely but not for Lapland UK because it's not just about the day.

You get a big build up - your child gets a special invitation to come and then you get messages to play to them.

The meeting with Father Christmas is really personalised to your child and so special. You can also get the best photos from the day!

Your child also gets a surprise on Christmas morning which just continues the magic.

So it depends on your children, your 2 year old would have to be unaware that all of this is happening and your older one would have to not question why the younger one wasn't invited. If they're not that observant/questioning yet then go for it! But I think it's important to know that it's not just a DAY out.

It's a brilliant place, the best of its kind in the UK. Worth every penny. Tbh I would've booked for all of you, not sure what you decided on in the end but we've travelled the world with our kids and had some amazing experiences, yet laplanduk remains up there in our favourite times.

Gutted 😞
Do they release anymore or "is that it"?

Not unreasonable. My DH took DD6 to Lapland for the day and I stayed at home with DS2. She had a rough year with several operations and we felt she deserved it. He said it was magical.

I bought tickets last year in early October. I think it was announced on their Facebook page with a special link that they were releasing some.
