Is anyone else just in a fucking foul mood today?

Ordered pizzas for collection as a Mother's Day treat for my kids. They're all "too tired" to walk round for it (5 mins, tops), so I end up having to. They got me a couple of wee gifts, but I'd much rather have nice actions. It's all just so disappointingly mediocre. They can hardly even be arsed talking to me.

I have 101 chores to do tonight, am menopausal and I fucking KNOW I'm being unreasonable, but I'm teary and pissed off anyway. Kids are 21, 16 and 13 and I'm a single mum. They're in their rooms chomping pizza while I'm trying to summon up the energy to do my chores. I hate Sundays. And it's back to work tomorrow.
Sorry for being such a miserable cow but I just wanted to vent for two minutes!

Same here OP.

I didn't want an expensive gift or a beautiful handmade card, I just wanted evidence of DC interest and a little bit of care, someone to make me a cup of tea or something. DH dutifully bought a card and chocs for 8yo DC to give me but it was very much him doing it on their behalf rather than them giving it any thought.

Next year I think I will go out myself for the day.

Oh I hear you lady!! I’m menopausal and I’m a constant bad mood. I’ve sat on my bed crying into my pudding this evening.
So sick of an ungrateful child. I’m a lone parent and so sick of never being spoilt.
Today has just rubbed my face into my own dull, shit life.

I’m grumpy because I didn’t get anything from my kids who have moved far away. A phone call from one and a text from the other one saying he’s ringing me at stupid o’clock tonight ☹️ should be grateful they’re speaking to me I guess !

Although I least I got a card and a small present so I shouldn’t be quite so grumpy but the rest of the day was full of chores and as rude teenager 🤷‍♀️
