Random child protection note on child dr notes?

Took dc to the dr yesterday with a very high temperature and they referred them to the hospital for blood tests because of high fever for a few days.
The dr printed out the notes for us to take to the hospital and on them there was a section that said.
Inactive Major Problems:
Child Protection and a date of March 2022.

We haven't heard from child protection, had any calls, visits, letters so have no idea what this is.
Does this mean our dc has had a referral to child protection a year ago and we were unaware?

Would it be wise to ring them and ask?
I'm very confused by this and also concerned that there's possibly been concerns for our child that are on their records and we don't know about this.
Hoping someone might have some knowledge on these things.

Any professionals know what this could be?
I would have thought we'd have heard from them if there'd been a report.

No point in phoning, you won't get through to anyone who knows the answer and they probably wouldn't tell you over the phone anyway. You could write, or you could make a subject access request under the Data Protection Act 2018 for all your child's medical records.

Are you aware of having taken your child to the doctor's a year ago? That might be a starting point?

It seems a bit odd that it would be 'child protection' ... the highest level of intervention and you were not contacted.
I can understand 'safeguarding concern or query' but there is not a hope in hell you would have been on child protection and not notified.
Ring the doctors and ask to speak to the secretary.

Can you cast your mind back to March 2022 - did your DC go to Dr or hospital, did something happen at school, was there a school nurse visit?

If I were you I'd just ask the Dr in the first instance what it means. It might just be a standard checkpoint at that age.

Your child wouldn’t be in child protection proceedings without you knowing. A lot of things have to happen before a child, even a child living in the worst of circumstances, gets to that stage.

it’s almost definitely an administrative error, but of course you’d like to have this confirmed.

No, no dr or hospital visits at that time.

Could it be that someone contacted social work to report a concern, social work contacted GP who confirmed all OK, and that was the end of the matter?

Many child protection referrals to social work don't lead to any form of intervention at all

I would definitely ring the practice. I used to work in GP surgeries for many years. Everything is coded and the date may possibly be when it was entered on your child's records, not necessarily when it happened. It could be a mistake, in which case, it needs to be removed or like pp said, someone possibly raised a concern, like nursery, school, HV (sorry, you don't mention age of child so might not apply). If your child has had multiple hospital trips in the past, it could be that. But definitely query it to put your mind at rest.

I hope your child is okay. Xx

Well this is what it sounds like to me, but had I not been given a print out of her notes then I'd never have known, which also raises the question if it's just one child as we have 2.
